11 Months

Mason turned 11 months old yesterday!!  I can't believe that in only one more month he will be a year old!!
Teeth--Mason still only has 6 teeth.  2 on the top and 4 on the bottom.
Sleeping--It seems no matter what we do, Mason's sleep habits are so irregular.  Just when I thought be might be in the habit of sleeping through the night, he's waking up at 1:30 in the morning again.  We've started feeding him when he wakes up and usually he'll go right back to sleep.  Sometimes we end up turning on a movie at 2 in the morning to help Mason calm down and fall back to sleep.
Mason and I watching Robin Hood at 2:00 in the morning.
Talking-- Mason is still just saying mama and dada.  Sometimes I'll ask him a question and I swear he'll answer back with a yes or no, but I'm not 100% certain he really knows what he is saying.  When I'm home all day with just me and Mason, I'll strike up a conversation with him and in his own little gibberish he talks back.  Case says Mason is going to be just like his mother when he grows up--always having something to say.
Eating--Mason is still mostly just eating baby food.  His favorite is plain rice cereal and plain oatmeal.  Every time I try to feed him something new he gives me this look on his face like that was the nastiest thing he had ever eaten, but then 2 seconds later he usually wants more.  Mason will usually eat anything.  After watching my older sister with her baby girl that's about the same age as Mason, I've become more brave on what I'll feed Mason.  I fed him gold fish for the first time the other day, I was so worried he was going to choke, but I thought if my little niece can eat it so can Mason, and he loved it!
Movement--Mason learned how to crawl this past month during our trip to St. George.  Now he crawls everywhere!  I love to watch him get so excited to crawl to something or someone.  He'll usually hyperventilate as he crawls towards it.  Mason spends most of his day crawling towards wherever I am or wherever people are.
Other--This past month Mason has learned all sorts of tricks.  The other day I caught him clapping.  He usually does it pretty sporadic, but sometimes when he watches someone do something cool he'll usually clap for them.  The other day we took Mason to the pool.  Whenever someone would jump in he would clap for them.
Mason also learned to wave.  I only saw him do it once, but I'm certain he'll do it more often.
This past month we also had to lower Mason's crib.  He was able to pull himself up onto his knees which made me too nervous, so Casey lowered it.

We love this little guy so much!!!  We hate to see him grow up so fast, but we are so grateful at the same time.  We are so grateful for a healthy growing boy.  I know our Heavenly Father has lots in store for our little Mason and I can't wait to see his plans for Mason.

P.S.  We took Mason to the Provo Beach Resort to ride the carousel for his 11 month birthday.  I placed him on the gorilla.  He was a little frightened and wanted to bail the entire ride.  Hopefully he'll like it more next time:)

St. George Trip

August 1-August 4 we took our end of summer trip to St. George.  We went down with Mer and Garrett and then mom and dad came down the next day to spend the rest of our vacation with us.

Thursday, August 1, 2013
We left our house around 11:00am.  We wanted to get started early enough so Mason would sleep most of the way.  The night before we left we had gone to get Mason a new car seat.  I was really worried about how he would do in his new car seat because he didn't really seem to like his other one, but he did great and he slept most of the way down.
We finally got to St. George around 3:00p.m.  After we unpacked our belongings from the car Mason went down for another nap (he was one sleepy child).  After he woke up from his nap we ate dinner, during dinner Casey was teaching Mason how to crawl.  He took a few crawling steps and we got them on video.  It is so cute to watch Mason crawl.  At first he would only do it when no one was watching.  By the end of the trip he was getting pretty good at it!
After dinner we went over to the pool for a little swim. When we got back from the pool it was about 9:00pm. We put Mason to bed then stayed up for a bit and ate Nelson's Frozen Custard while we watched T.V. Then it was time for bed.

Mason was up and going around 7:00am so Case and I decided to start our morning off by going to the pool.  After the pool we brought Mason back to the condo for his nap.  While Mason was napping Mer and Garrett went to the pool so Case and I decided to play a few round of Family Feud.  Case totally beat me.

After Mer and Garrett got back from the pool and Mason woke up from his nap, we ate lunch then went shopping for a few hours.
Mom and dad arrived to the condo around 6:00pm.  After they arrived we went swimming, worked on a puzzle, then went to Brick Oven for dinner and Nelson's Frozen Custard for dessert.

This morning the boys decided to go shooting while the girls decided to go shopping.  After the boys returned we met at the snow cone shack for a delicious Captain America snow cone.  Then we went back to the condo to put Mason down for a nap and work on another puzzle.

When Mason woke up from his nap we headed to the pool for our last swim of the trip.

We ended our last night in St. George by going to Firehouse Subs for dinner and eating Nelson's Frozen Custard for dessert.

We woke up early to clean the condo.  After we got the condo all cleaned we went to church.  After church we came back to the condo and did our last finishing touches on cleaning the condo, made some sandwiches for our ride home and then we were off.
We stopped at a park in Parowan, on our way home, to eat our lunch of sandwiches.

On our way home we stopped in Springville to visit Casey's mom and dad and showed them Mason's new trick, CRAWLING!!
We got home around 7:30pm.  We unloaded the car and unpacked our suitcases.  Soon we heard some friendly visitors outside coming over to show us Mabel's new toy.  Ryan and Meg found a little red wagon for Mabel and they came over to take Mason and Mabel for a little ride.

We had such a fun time in St. George.  We hope we can make it back again soon.

Crandall Family Reunion

Last weekend on July 27, a Crandall Family Reunion was being held in Bear Lake.  Case and I decided it would be fun to drive down with my mom to go to the family reunion.
We left around 7:00a.m. on Saturday morning.  Mer decided to drive down with us.  We had a delicious breakfast which consisted of Einstein Bagels (thanks Garrett!) and then we were off.  It took us about 1 1/2 hours to get to Logan where we met up with Lin and Justin and drove the rest of the way to Bear Lake.
After getting there we met in the pavilion to visit with family members and eat lunch.  Justin and Casey went outside to play Frisbee, but quickly came back inside when it started pouring rain.  Since it was pouring rain, we couldnt' go down to the lake, we couldn't go swimming in the pool, and the boys couldn't play Frisbee, so we got out Skip-Bo and played a few rounds.
After about 4 hours of visiting with relatives we knew and some we didn't, we decided it was time for our long ride home, but first we had to stop for a famous raspberry shake.

We said goodbye to Lin and Justin and ate our raspberry shakes on the go.
On our way home we stopped at Maddox for dinner.  You can't drive through Brigham City without stopping at Maddox to eat!
We had a great time spending the day with family.  We're looking forward to the next family reunion!
