July Happenings--2017

I love summer and our July was no exception to our great summer.  Here is what we were up to during the month of July.
Our little Blake learning how to crawl at about 10 months old.  He does a peg leg crawl where he drags one of his legs and then crawls with the other.  It's pretty cute and he gets a lot of looks and compliments on his crawl and his blond white hair.
We took a family hike to a hike at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.  It was called dripping wet falls and it was a perfect hike for our family full of little people.  The trail is completely paved and at any time you can walk down to the slow flowing river to dip your feet it.  Along the sides of the river is a hangover that drips water along the whole hike.  The hike was short and the kids loved walking down to the river to walk in the water and throw rocks in.  It was such a fun outing for our little family.

We had a family party BBQ with the Mecham's.  We love spending time with family.

This boy. He has completely stolen our hearts.  We love him so much.  He is such a good baby.  He was extremely tired this day and fell asleep on my bed like this.
My favorite holiday is the 4th of July and we did a lot of celebrating.  We started out by going to the balloons on the day before the 4th of July.  The boys love the balloons.  We even got to see Smokey the Bear.  We love our tradition of going to breakfast after.

The next day was the 4th of July and we continued with all our traditions.  We started out with the Freedom race.  Casey took Mason and Tanner on the Freedom 5K run and while I was saving seats I waited for him to run by.  The boys love to run in the race with Casey.  After was the parade  I have done this tradition ever since I was little and it's one I always look forward to.  After the parade it was home for naps.  After naps we went to Tim and Natalie's for a BBQ dinner.  I love this dinner tradition because it's a chance to see family that I don't get to see very often.  Mom and Deanne also always make homemade ice cream which is always a big hit.  After dinner and ice cream we headed over to Ry and Megs for fireworks.  It was the perfect ending to my favorite holiday.

On July7th, our little family took another hike.  The boys found a hill to slide down on their bottoms.  They got pretty dirty. That night we made crazy hair before going to bed. I think these boys might need some haircuts!

Irrigation at grandma and grandpa Mecham's always calls for a party.  The water is freezing, but that doesn't stop almost everyone, except me, from getting in the water and having fun.

Mom, Dad, Lin, Myrn, and us went up Pleasant Grove Canyon to see the humongous flag that is hanging from the middle of the canyon.  It's one of the biggest flags ever made and we got to see it. It was fun hiking up a little closer to the flag.  Mom stayed back with Blake.

Mason loves the rope swing at Amy and Jared's house.
We had so much fun on our family hike to dripping wet falls, that we headed there again with cousins.  We had fun playing in the water. Then going to the Springville splash pad after and let the kids play in more water. The splash pad offers a free kids lunch so the kids ate their lunch while the girls went to Kneaders and enjoyed yummy sandwiches.

Our little Blakey Bear.
The other night, Tanner walked into our room at about 3:00 in the morning and handed me a popsicle to eat.  I said no, it was too early in the morning, and he pouted by the side of the bed until he got tired and went back to bed.  So the next morning we had popsicles for breakfast.

Amy Jared's annual 24th of July party is always a highlight of our year and this year did not disappoint. We had yummy food, a water party, family, fireworks, and lots of fun spent with cousins.  We love this party, but I think our favorite part is just getting to spend time with family.

We've spent a lot of time at Casey's pool this summer.  We've loved going and spending our summer says with cousins at the pool.  Mason took swimming lessons this year and even was brave enough to jump off the diving board (with a lot of coaxing).  Tanner and Blake were patient poolside while Mason did his swimming lessons.
Mason and Tanner worked on puzzles inside while it was too hot to go outside.
More fun at Casey's pool.

On the last day of July, the Hess Family invited our family to go to the lake on their new boat.  I learned how to wake surf, Mason tubed with his cousins, Tanner loved riding on the boat, and Blake loved cuddling with Casey.  We had a great time and we can't wait to go again.

June Happenings--2017

Summer has officially began and we are loving every minute of it.  Here is what we were up to during the month of June.
We started the month off with Amy and Jared's Son's of Helaman camp.  Because they were gone all day for a few days, we get to help watch their kids.  We love spending this week with them.  We went to the park and swam on the slip-n-slide.

Mason started t-ball.  I love watching him play.  He is still learning the game, but he loves it so far.

We like taking the boys to the Riverwoods to play in the splash pad.

Mason has no cavities!  Neither did Tanner, but for some reason I didn't get his picture.
We love going to Casey's work to swim.  These boys are becoming quite the swimmers.
Eating otter pops on the deck is a summer favorite.
Blake at 10 months old.

OREM SUMMERFEST is a summer favorite.  We love going to watch the parade at mom and dad's house.  We love spending the evening outside with family watching the parade and fireworks.

We spend a lot of time at Casey's work during the summer and we love it.  We love when grandma and grandpa come to have a golf cart ride with us.
We took a spontaneous trip to the zoo during the month of June.  It was a cold, rainy day, and we were debating on going or not, but we ended up going and I'm so glad we did.  It was a little cold, but not crowded and all.  Because it wasn't so hot the animals were out and active. We had such a fun time.  The best part of our zoo trip was going with cousins!

I signed up the boys to do swimming lessons at the Scera pool.  They did great and they both learned a lot.

Mason giving Blake a ride in his dump truck.
We went to the park one day. Something had happened with Ash where she got her feelings hurt.  Mason went up and grabbed her hand and held it until she wasn't sad anymore. Mason is always looking out for others feelings.
For my birthday, we took the boys on a little waterfall hike.  The boys loved every miniute of our hike.

Casey always makes my birthday a special day.  We took the boys to see cars 3, went on a hike, and celebrated with my favorite-DQ ice cream cake.
Meg had another baby in June.  Baby Edith joined their family on June 19th.  We loved going to the hospital to meet baby Edith for the first time.
Blakey--heart melting.

Mom, Dad, Lin, Myrn, Garret, and I went to see the play Joseph the and Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat at the Hale Center Theater.  To say this was a fun night, would be a major understatement.  Loved the play, but loved the company more.  We also saw President Uchdorf there.

LEGO EXPO with Myrn and Garrett.  We had so much fun looking at all the amazing Lego creations that people make.  Mason's favorite part was the Lego pit.  There were millions and millions of Legos and Mason loved building with them.

Blake eating ice cream cake.
Daniel and Stacy invited us to the Lindon city pool.  The pool was awesome.  Water slides, a lazy river, wading pools, etc.  We had so much fun, and the boys loved being able to swim with Canyon, Oakley, and Jack.
Em and I take each other out for our birthdays.  This was my birthday dinner at Pizza Express.
Mason sleeping with his Bumblebee toy that he got from the Hess family.
More swimming at Daddy's pool.  This summer we went a lot with the Hess family.  We had so much fun spending our summer at the pool.  Dad would bring us popsicles too.  The boys loved them.

And that's a wrap.  An end to another great June.
