Tanner at 12 months and Mason at 30 Months

Tanner is already one and our little Mason is already 2 and a half.  I can't believe we'll have a three year old in just 6 short months.  Mason turned 2.5 on March 16th and Tanner turned 1 on March 25th, so I took them both in on March 26th for their well child visits.

4.  Mason loves trucks of any kind.  He loves digger trucks, monster trucks, etc.  Every time we see any kind of truck driving down the road he says "big truck."
5.  Mason started helping saying prayers recently.
6.  Mason also started singing with me when I sing him his songs before he goes down for naps and bed.
7.  Mason is a great eater.  He pretty much loves anything, except meat.  When he eats meat he'll just chew on it for like 15 min.  When I realize it's still in his mouth, I usually have him spit it out.
8.  Mason loves Tanner.  He'll call Tanner: baby, brother, or Tanner, but usually baby.
9.  Mason loves to have Tanner in the same room as him and shut the door to play.

18.  Mason loves riding on the four-wheeler, tractor, fork lift, and any other kind of mighty machine he can get on.
19.  Mason loves to ride his little Harley Davidson trike.  Recently he made me get out a rag and clean it for him.
20.  Mason says "mommy you're pretty" and "love you mommy."  When I hear him saying these things it melts my heart.
21.  Mason loves spending time with cousins and grandparents.
22.  Every morning when I do Mason's hair he'll always tell me who's hair he wants.  Sometimes it's: daddy hair, Bud hair, Parkey hair, Myrna hair, Linny hair, Oakey hair, and Amy hair.
23.  Mason loves  to be outside.
24.  Mason takes one 2.5-3 hour nap/day.

29.  Mason wears 2T clothes and size 7 in shoes.
30.  Mason has the sweetest personality.

We love our little Mason.  He's been such a joy and blessing in our family.

3.  Tanner's head is 18 inches and is in the 48th percentile.
4.  Tanner has been tricky to get to eat.  He seems to be more interested in playing then he is in sitting down to eat.  I usually have to distract him with a few toys in order to get him to eat anything.  For some reason milk is very hard on his tummy and he can't keep anything dairy down.  We've been buying him Soy chocolate milk to drink which he loves.
5.  Tanner wears size 12-18 month clothes and is in size 4 diapers.  He has small feet and hands.  Tanner also has the blondest/whitest hair I have ever seen.

9.  Tanner says mama and dada.  He also waves, claps his hands, and plays peek-a-boo.
10.  Tanner loves being held.  When he is down on the floor he'll crawl up your legs and wait for you to pick him up.

12.  Tanner usually wakes up once in the night for a bottle.  He usually eats about 5-6 oz. of bottle per day.  One 3 oz. bottle before bed and one in the middle of the night.  He pretty much just winged himself off of his bottle.  It's a struggle to get him to drink even the 6 oz. per day, but I have so much milk saved and I don't want it to all go to waste, so I try my hardest to get him to drink at least 6 oz. per day.

We love Tanner so much and we are so grateful he is part of our family.

Tanner's 1st Birthday

Well our little Tanner is one!!  It seems like he's been one now for a while, so it didn't really hit me as a big shock until his actual birthday hit.  I wasn't even emotional all day, until it came time to rock my "baby" to sleep that night.  I just can't believe how fast this past year has gone and how fast our little Tanner is growing up.

We celebrated Tanner's birthday 3 times!! Once with Casey's family, once with mine, and then again on his actual birthday.  Our little Tanner was very spoiled!!

I did a Dr. Seuss themed party for Tanner.  I made these cute invitations for Tanner.  We celebrated Isaac's birthday at the same time we celebrated Tanner's, since they are only 11 days apart.
We had the party at Casey's school on March 15th with Casey's family.  It was the perfect place to get together.  We had a delicious dinner of chicken salad sandwiches, Cat in the Hat fruit kabobs, one fish two fish jello, Lorax punch, and some chips.  At the party we: made Dr. Seuss hats, cotton candy, Cat in the Hat balloon pop, and a fish pond.

After dinner and activities we opened Tanner's presents form grandma and grandpa Mecham and CJ and Bridgette.  Grandma and Grandpa gave Tanner a treat basket, some cute new clothes, and some new books.  CJ and Bridgette gave Tanner a bath toy duck.
After presents it was time for dessert.  I made Tanner this cute Dr. Seuss cake, but didn't let Tanner dig into it because he hadn't been feeling well a couple days prior.
After dessert, it was time to clean up and head home.  This party was such a great start to the celebrating of Tanner's birthday.

We celebrated with my family on March 22nd at my mom and dad's house.  We also celebrated Myrn's, Justin's, and Parker's birthdays as well.  We started out with a delicious dinner:  Jared's famous BBQed steak, cheesey potatoes, green salad, and the Cat in the the Hat fruit kabobs.  Everything tasted so good.
While everyone picked up the dishes, I gathered the kids to make Cat in the Hat hats, and make cotton candy.  All the kids LOVED it.

After cleaning the dishes up and playing a few games, it was time to open presents.  Everyone was so kind to Tanner.  He got:  bath toy boats from the Hess family, puffs, and a cute bath toy penguin from Daniel and Stacy, super hero Mr. Potato Heads from Ryan and Meg, a huge thing of bubbles from Lin and Justin, and a cute Dr. Seuss bag full of books and a Dr. Seuss sippy cup from Myrn and Garrett.  I was so grateful for the love and support that was shown for our little Tanner that night.
After presents, we had dessert.  I was so full from dinner, but that didn't stop me from eating way too much dessert.  There was brownies, choc. chip cookies, Oreo cookies, and DQ ice cream cake.

The night came to an end way to soon and it was time to tell everyone good-bye.

Tanner's actual birthday was on March 25th.  We pretty much celebrated all day.  For breakfast Casey brought us Birthday Donuts. For lunch I took Mason and Tanner to a McDonalds with a play place.  Amy met us there (since Parker and Tanner share the same birthday).  The kids had so much fun playing together on the play place.
After lunch I took the boys home for their naps.  Casey got home around 4:30 and it was time for more celebrating.  We took Mason and Tanner to Flowserve in Springville (where dad used to work), and let them feed the ducks.  This is a favorite tradition of mine.  Since dad used to work their I have so many memories of mom and dad taking us to feed the ducks bread.  It was so fun to start this tradition with our own little family.  Mason loved getting really close to the ducks and throwing the bread to them.  I was a little nervous, because there were so many ducks, that Tanner and I didn't get too close to them, but still had fun throwing the bread in the water for the ducks to eat.  We took a whole loaf of bread and within about 30 minutes it was gone, so we took Mason and Tanner to a park afterwords to play.

After the park we met grandma and grandpa Mecham at Cafe Rio for dinner.  It was fun to get to see them on Tanner's birthday.

After dinner we came back home.  Mom and dad came over to give Tanner his cute clothes and fun Little Peoples airplane for his birthday.  We ended the night by singing Happy Birthday to Tanner, let Mason blow out his candles, ate root beer floats and cookies, then got the kids in the tub and ready for bed.  They were completely exhausted after such a fun filled day.

Tanner has been such a huge blessing in our lives.  He has a loving personality and has definitely taught us how to be more patient.  We love you Tanner.  Happy Birthday!!

February Happenings--2015

February was a fun filled, busy month for us.  Here is a peek into our February.

1.  Tanner learned to stand up in his crib.  We had to lower his crib towards the beginning of February.  I can't believe how fast time has flown with this little guy, he's growing up way too fast.

2.  Amy and I took the kids to Carl's Jr. We ordered the kids some kids meals and I went to Taco and brought it to Carl's Jr. so we didn't have to eat their nasty food.  The kids had so much fun playing on the play place.  We knew it was time to leave when Ash got beat up by a Polynesian child.

3.  We took Mason bowling for the first time at the beginning of February.  He had so much fun.  Every time he would bowl the ball and it would knock down a few pins, he would throw his hand up in the air and say, "YES."  We'll definitely take Mason bowling again, he loved it.

4.  Mason loves Tanner.  Everyone always asks how I feel about having 2 kids so close together in age.  I love it!!  I wouldn't have it any other way.  The reason I love it, is because they really are becoming best friends.  Mason is always looking out for Tanner and Tanner follows Mason around like a little shadow.
In this picture Mason pushed a chair over to Tanner's high chair and started feeding Tanner some yogurt melts.
One day as I was cleaning the house, I went to check on the boys and found them in Mason's room with the door closed.  I could hear them both just giggling away behind that closed door.
They even cause trouble together.  Here they are pulling all the pots and pans out of the cupboard.

5.  No one is really into football in my family, but we still had fun celebrating the Super Bowl with a super party.  Mason and Tanner wore their matching football outfits and we even had a football ice cream cake from DQ.

6.  Tanner puts everything into his mouth.  Here he is eating his sock.

7.  Tanner loves the tub.  He loves getting in the tub with Mason.

8.  One day I babysat Ash and Weston for Amy.  Mason and Ash learned how to press the button to the fridge for the water to come out.  Needless to say they were soaking wet and water was ALL over the floor.  I don't think I've ever heard Mason laugh so hard.

9.  We took Mason, Tanner, Lydia, and Landon to Classic Fun Center on a Thursday night.  Mason conquered his fear of bounce houses and he had so much fun with his friends.  We jumped for over an hour and when we were done, Mason still cried when it was time to leave.

10.  We went to the Ice and Fire event in the Riverwoods.  It was a little warm for an ice show, but the Riverwoods still managed to make it fun.  They had:  ice sculptors, snowmobiles,  rhinos, a small petting zoo full of reindeer, and a live band.  Mason's favorite part was the Harley Davidson.  He went right up to it and the owner was kind enough to let Mason sit on it to get his picture taken.  Towards the end of the night we met up with Ry, Meg, Mabel, Maccoy and Daniel, Stacy, Canyon, Oaks, and Jack for the firework show.  It only lasted about 3 minutes, but seeing fireworks in February was still a great time.

11.  Amy had some extra tickets to Pinkalicious at the Scera Shell Theater.  I took Lydia, Mason, Parker, one of Lydia's friends, Myrn, Garrett, Mabel, and Meg.  The play was about an hour long and was a little weird, but Mason and all the other kids loved it!

12.  We celebrated Valentines Day.  Casey took me on a Valentine's dinner to Outback Steakhouse a few days before Valentines Day (thanks to Mer and Garret for watching Mason and Tanner).  On Valentine's Day we celebrated all day.  I heart attacked the boys' doors the night before and they sure were excited to see the hearts all over their doors when they woke up.

That night we delivered our Valentines to family then came back home to eat our heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's.  Mason sure loved all the valentines we got that day.  I love Valentines Day and having kids, that I love so much, to celebrate with makes it even better.
Casey painted our cupboard downstairs (more to come on that later) and got me roses for Valentine's Day.

13.  Mason and Tanner in Mason's car.  When Tanner first saw Mason driving this, he was so scared of it.  I think it's the eyes on the front.  He would scream and scream to get away from it.  Mason has helped warm Tanner up to the car by taking Tanner for drives in the car.  They sure have fun together.

14.  Mason trying to put on the headlamp.

15.  Girls night out at the Olive Garden.  Dessert at Yogurtland then off to Target for a little bit of shopping.  I love GNO and look forward to it every month.

16.  Mason found these stickers and decided to place them all over his head.  He insisted on wearing them all day like this.

17.  Our smiley Tanner turned 11 months old this month!!

18.  Love these boys of mine!!

What a fun month!!!
