On September 16th Mason turned 24 months/2 years old and on September 25th Tanner turned 6 months old. Having these 2 only 18 months apart makes it so nice when it comes to doctors appointments. I was able to take Mason for his 2 year check-up and Tanner for his 6 month check-up at the same time.
Here is Mason 's stats at 2 years old.
Weight: 25lbs. in the 28th %
Height: 34 inches in the 30th %
Head: 19 inches in the 70th %
Talking: My doctor referred us to Kids On The Move for Mason's speech delay. The doctor didn't seem too worried about him, but he is saying about 50 words short of what he should be saying. I'm hoping Kids On The Move will be able to give me a few pointers on how to get Mason talking a little more.
Other: The doctor took one look at Mason's unbruised legs and said he could tell Mason was a cautions child. To me, Mason seems a little fearless, but fearless with caution. He loves exploring new things, but he always does it slow, almost like he's thinking of all the things that could go wrong if he takes one wrong step.
Mason is one happy boy, it always seems like Mason is always laughing or smiling. One of his favorite things to do right now is play with his cousins. He loves playing with kids. I often find Mason playing with the "big" kids, I know he wants to be just like them when he grows up.
Mason loves anything with wheels. If it has wheels, he thinks it's the coolest thing he has ever seen. He'll often point at things with wheels and say "wow" in a gruff tough voice.
Mason loves books of any kind. The other day we sat and read books on the couch for about 40 minutes straight. He would run to his room, grab a book from his shelf, then bring it to me to read to him. He got some new truck books for his birthday that he loves me to read to him while he points at the pictures. I love reading to our little Mason.
We love our little Mason. I count my blessings everyday that I get to stay home and be apart of all these new milestones of Mason's and Tanner's.
Here is Tanner's stats at 6 months old.
Weight: 14lbs. in the 7th %
Height: 25 inches in the 6th %
Head: 16 inches in the 28th %
Tanner's not breaking too many records for his size, but we couldn't be happier with our healthy growing baby.
Sleeping: Tanner is still taking about 3 naps a day. In in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. He's been going to bed around 10:00 and waking up around 4 to eat. He'll usually go right back to sleep and sleep until about 8.
Talking: We love to hear all the little sounds this little baby makes.
Eating: Tanner is eating 6 oz. 4 times a day. This past month I started Tanner on solids. Tanner eats 2 servings of rice cereal a day--one in the morning and one in the evening.
Teeth: I say this every month, but Tanner's teeth are so close to popping through on the bottom. I'm surprised that they haven't popped through yet, since Mason's popped through at about 5.5 months old. I'm guessing it'll be any day for Tanner, but I'll probably be saying that again next month.
Other: Adding Tanner to our little family has been such a blessing. We love this little guy so so much. I can't believe Tanner is already 6 months old. Tanner loves Mason. He loves just sitting and watching in amazement at all Mason can do. This past month I've watched Mason and Tanner really start to interact with each other. These moments make being a mom so much fun. I hope and pray everyday that Mason and Tanner will be best friends.
Tanner is so close to sitting up. He hasn't quite mastered this skill yet, but I'm guessing at any day, with a little more practice, he'll be sitting up in not time.
Tanner loves to be held and cuddled still. He'll be crying for no reason and as soon as you pick him up he's fine. Tanner also has a little bit of fear if he is left alone, or thinks he is left alone. As long as he can see someone he is usually fine to lay on the floor, ride in his carseat, or rock in his bouncer, but as soon as he thinks you might have left the room he starts to get a little nervous and he'll start to cry. Even as much as when he is laying on the bed for me to change his diaper and I bend down, to where he can't see me anymore, to get a diaper out of the drawer, Tanner will start screaming. He hates to be left alone.
Tanner is also very very ticklish. Anywhere you try to tickle him, he laughs. Tanner is a very smiley baby. He loves to have people play with him. He gets the biggest smiles on his face if you hide and pop up to scare him and say "boo." Tanner loves to laugh. I love to hear his little laugh especially when it's Mason that's making Tanner laugh.
Tanner is such a joy to have in our family. We love his little personality and his huge smile.

Mason's 2nd Birthday
Mason turned 2 on September 16, 2014. I can't believe that we officially have a 2 year old, time goes by way too fast.
We celebrated Mason turning 2 all week.
Tuesday, September 16th--Mason's actual birthday.
Tuesday was Mason's actual birthday. After Mason woke up that morning I fixed him his favorite breakfast of toast with peanut butter and chocolate milk to drink. After breakfast we got ready for the day and played around until it was time for the fun to begin.
At around 12:30 we went to eat lunch with Casey. We stopped at Wendy's on our way down to Springville and got Mason his favorite lunch of chicken nuggets, french fries, and a lemonade to drink. We met Casey at his work and we ate lunch. After we got done with lunch we wondered over to Casey's office. Casey had bought Mason a new Monster truck and he had it hiding in his office. Casey gave Mason the new monster truck. Mason loved it and immediately wanted to open it and test it out down the hallways of Casey's school.
After Casey's lunch break was over, we packed the boys in the car and drove home. After we got home it was time to put Mason and Tanner down for naps. After Mason and Tanner woke up from their naps we continued to celebrate Mason's birthday. We invited grandma and grandpa Mecham over to watch Mason open his presents. Mason was so excited about opening his presents. He got a few new bath toys, a slide, and a big dump truck.
After opening his presents, we sang happy birthday and enjoyed eating Mason's birthday cake.
Soon it was time to tell grandma and grandpa Mecham good-bye and hello to grandma and grandpa Furr.
Grandma and Grandpa Furr came over to wish Mason a happy birthday and give him his presents. They also stayed for one of Mason's favorite dinners--hamburgers (he mostly just eats the hamburger patty and the pickles), apple and banana salad, and chips. Grandma and grandpa gave Mason a cute new outfit and a toy forklift. Mason looks so handsome in his new outfit and he loves playing with his forklift.
Mason's second birthday was winding down and it was time to tell grandma and grandpa good-bye so we could put Tanner and the birthday boy to bed. Mason had a wonderful birthday full of fun and celebrating.
We continued celebrating through the weekend with family.
Saturday, September 20th--Mason's birthday party with my side of the family.
We celebrated all the September birthdays on Saturday. I planned a Monster Truck themed birthday party with games, yummy food, and of course birthday cakes.
We started the evening at 6:00 we started by eating a delicious dinner of Cafe' Rio salads. Everything tasted so good.
After dinner we played the games. I made 3 games.
1. Pin the Tires on the Monster Truck. We attempted to blind fold all the kids, then they had to tape the tires on the Monster Truck.
2. Monster Truck Balloon Pop--All the kids would throw darts at the balloons to try to get them to pop.
3. Monster Truck Pinata--We, again, attempted to blind fold the kids while they whacked the Pinata, that was full of candy, down.
Everyone had a great time playing the games.
After the games we opened presents and ate dessert. September is a very busy month for birthdays in my family. We celebrated Mom's, Lin's, Meg's, Casey's, Mabel's, and Mason's birthday. Mason was so excited about opening more presents--he definitely got very spoiled
The Hess family gave Mason: a construction site Play-Doh set
The Furr family gave Mason: Killer Bee monster truck
The Furr family gave Mason: a tractor and big rig book
The Clasby family gave Mason: Monster Mutt monster truck
The Bodily family gave Mason: a fire engine, big rig, and school bus books
Mason loves all his presents and loves playing with them all day.
For dessert we had an assortment of cookies, Magleby's Chocolate and Lemon cake, and Jello cake. I'd say everyone left the party with full tummies. After dessert we picked up the party and told our good-byes to everyone. We are so grateful for family and the time we get to spend with them!
We ended our celebrating of Mason's birthday on Sunday with Casey's family
Sunday, September 21st--Mason's birthday party with Casey's family.
The party with Casey's family started at 7. We sang happy birthday to Mason, had some delicious Monster Truck cake, opened Mason's birthday present from grandma and grandpa Mecham, and ended with a fun game of Pictionary.
Grandma and Grandpa gave Mason a cute dog named Scout. Mason loves Scout!!
Andy and Tayci gave Mason a bag of Muddy Buddies. I had no idea Mason loved Muddy Buddies so much, the big bag they gave him was gone by the next morning!
We had so much fun celebrating out little Mason, all week long. We are so grateful for Mason. He adds so much fun and excitement to our lives. We are so excited to have Mason in the terrific twos, we love this age and stage Mason is in. He continues to makes us laugh and smile everyday!!

August Happenings--2014
I say this every time, but I can't believe August is already over and we are in to September. August was the last real month of summer and we definitely made the best of our last days of summer. Here is a little of what we did during the month of August.
1. I took lots and lots of pictures of these two little favorites of mine.
2. At the beginning of August Amy and I took the kids to Flowserve to feed the ducks. Mason loved every minute of it. He would feed the ducks then run back for more bread. Mason managed to step in every sink hole there was and he stepped in a large amount of duck poo, but his muddy pooy shoes didn't keep him from having a great time.
After feeding the ducks we met Stacy, Canyon, Oakley, and Jack at McDonald's for lunch.
3. Spent a night giving Mason and Tanner 4-wheeler rides in the orchard.
4. Tanner learned to sit in the Bumbo and he loves it.
5. One night Mason lined up all his trains.
6. Got rid of all the concrete that was in our backyard. The project ended up being a huge project because there was about 15 tons of concrete that we needed to get rid of. Ryan was able to borrow a dump truck (which Mason loved) from work and we hauled 2 large loads of concrete in it to a dump. Mason loved having the dump truck at our house over the weekend and he loved being able to ride the tractor with grandpa. When he wasn't riding the tractor with grandpa, he would stand at the top of the deck and watch the action from above. This little Mason of ours is truly ALL BOY. He loves his big trucks. Whenever he sees one he'll say in a gruff voice (like Tim on Home Improvement) "Oh wow."
7. At lunch at the shop where Mason enjoyed riding the fork lift with grandpa.
8. Spent days at the pool. One day we happened to be the only ones at the pool, it was so fun!
9. Tanner loves watching movies.
10. Went to the mall to let Mason play on the tree house. A young man asked Casey if he could draw a cartoon picture of Casey. We ended up playing on the playhouse for about an hour so Casey could get his picture drawn.
11. Spent a Friday afternoon at the Springville Splash Pad with Stacy, Amy, Lin, and Meg.
12. Enjoyed Friday night drinks, movie, and popcorn.
13. Celebrated Garrett and Bud's birthday.
14. One morning I saw a police car that kept going up and down our street. At one point he stopped at a house across the street got a gun out of the back of his car and started sneaking around the house. I kept watching, but soon the police officer got in his car and drove off. About an hour later, there were about 5 police cars across the street. Come to find out a cougar was found in the backyard of a house across the street from ours. I'm happy it was caught and I'm relieved it died on the way to the animal shelter--I was a little nervous it might find it's way back down to our neighborhood again.
15. Casey surprised me with tickets to Phil Vassar at the Scera. Casey got us front row seats! We had a great time, by far the best concert I've been to.
16. School started :(
17. We babysat cousin Parker.
18. Mason had a few meltdowns.
19. Tanner turned 5 months old.
20. Went to another Mecham family reunion. We had fun playing games, eating dinner, and visiting with cousins who we never ever see.
21. Casey gave Mason wagon rides while mowing my parents lawn.
22. Mason ate his very first ice cream cone.
23. Went to the mall with my sisters and went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch.
What a month!! We have been so busy this past month. Now that summer is over, maybe things will start to calm down.
