End of Summer Happenings

We are so sad to see summer end, but we didn't say good-buy to summer without a big BOOM!  We spent the last few days of summer, doing what we like best, spending time with family.

Casey took a 1 1/2 days off work before all the hustle and bustle started when the kids and teachers came back to school.  We spent his days off shopping at the Traverse Outlet Malls and swimming at the Scera Pool.  We sure have enjoyed our pool pass, another pool pass is a definite must for next summer!

We invited Casey's mom, dad, and Phil over for Sunday dinner before Casey's mom had to go back to work at Springville High school.  After dinner, Phil started playing with Mason.  Mason loved poking Phil's eyes and by the look on Phil's face--he was having a great time too.  Mason just loves Uncle Phil.

We had a family reunion with the Mecham family right before summer ended.  The reunion was held at Mapleton Park in Mapleton.  We got there just in time for Casey to play a few rounds of Frisbee and baseball before a mega storm hit.  Luckily I came prepared with blankets and jackets because what started out as a sunny and warm, family reunion, soon turned into a cold and cloudy family reunion.  The cold didn't seem to bother Mason.  Even though it was rainy and freezing outside, he was still enjoying watching dad play ball and playing with Cait and Grandpa Chris in the dugout.

My sister Lindsey graduated from Provo College School of Nursing right before summer ended.  We are so proud of her!  We threw her a big GOOD JOB party and I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures, but we are so proud of her and know she's going to be the best nurse in the entire WORLD!!

For the August family activity, Daniel and Stacy, and Ry and Meg planned a camping trip.  Case, Mase, and I had fun traveling up the Provo Canyon and spending Friday at the camp out.  We drove home while the others camped and spent the night, then Case, Mase and I drove up Saturday morning for breakfast.  Now that's my kind of camping!  On our way up to the campsite we saw a biker eat it hard on his road bike as he was pedaling down Sqaw Peak road.  Case slammed on his breaks just in time to not run over the tumbling man.  Casey loaded the man's bike into the car and we drove the man back down the canyon.  This experience was a little scary, but we're grateful no one was seriously injured.  Thanks Daniel, Stacy, Ry, and Meg for such a fun camping trip!

We hate so say good-bye to summer.  We're going to miss the warm weather, spending lots of time with family, going to the pool, and not having daddy home with us more often (Casey started school too), but we're looking forward to what fun Fall will bring.
